Cricket Hopi vs LRC
After an enjoyable day @ cricket yesterday I'm at a theme park and very tired today - not much politics coming from this blog at the moment (well from me anyway) as I'm much too busy preparing for going into labour very soon. (And no I don't mean rejoining the Labour Party)
To keep you ticking over please see below a couple of pics from yesterday's match.
The match was 25 overs each Hopi won with 112 for 5, LRC got 99 for 5.
Special mention to welshy (aka Ben Lewis) who went out for a golden duck on the first ball (will he ever live that down!) And my good friend John Millington who was the LRC's top batsman.
I was happy whoever won because we raised over 1k so far but also because I sit on the national committees of both organisations - so I couldn't lose :)
Was also good just to have a catch up with various lefties :) we had participants from the LRC, compass, socialist party, young labour, cpgb, morning star, green party - so much fun wiv so many lefties lol (did I miss anyone?)
(The picture of the 3 people playin football is my husband and son and Mary P from the LRC office who had taken a break from the excitement of the cricket)
Well done to all who organised it mainly Ben Lewis and Rory Mcqueen- and please keep sending donations in even if the event is over :)
Jim has also blogged here - http://jimjay.blogspot.com/2009/08/cricket-aid-for-iranian-workers.html
I suspect stroppy will put up some of the pics she took as well www.stroppyblog.blogspot.com

Excellent - thanks for that
Great post - and good to see a report of this.
John Gray seems to think you are saying you've left the Labour Party, though? What's happened?
Dennis M
If only I had been there ;p
Interesting that Dennis M and his online informant don't read the posts upon which they comment!
It's just not cricket...
Jon,
I did read the post and Marsha clearly says:
"(And no I don't mean rejoining the Labour Party)"
I don't know if I've 'mis-read' that in some way?
Or are you referring to my mistake over John Gray? I'll happily stand corrected that it wasn't John Gray who picked up on this but a commenter on a post of his.
Dennis M
Can someone please tell me what the point of cricket actually is? Think the same thing every summer
Lol well does that mean the Gray one is right I do hope not so much to do yet
Anon yep that is what it says - Sorry Sean - im afriad so - its not the first time ive mentioned it on here my membership lapsed at the beginning of the year and I just cant be arsed to renew it as yet.
