Justice for Jane campaign

I attended the Justice for Jane rally at Weymouth last Friday organised by the PCS union (I took pix as well see above).
To get a good understanding what this case is about please read the Dorset Echo’s article as it encapsulates the gross injustice Jane has experienced.

Show your solidarity by sending emails to justiceforjane@pcs.org.uk

Join the Facebook Group as well

I will keep you updated about the campaign and further events.

Please show your solidarity.

Another new blog - support Caroline Bedale

www.supportcarolinebedale.wordpress.com

Caroline Bedale has been disciplined by UNISON about things she did at the time of the campaign to reinstate Karen Reissmann.  She has been found guilty of 'acting in a manner prejudicial to the union'.  Unless her appeal is successful she will be banned from any union office for 8 years - which will take her beyond retirement.

Caroline is one of the most hard working and honest trade union activists, who has devoted over 30 years to defending workers' rights. She is respected by the members of her branch, by other UNISON branches and by trade unionists in other unions.

She has often criticised the union's leadership about their failure to lead and coordinate a fightback against damaging government policies.

She is now just one of a number of activists who are being disciplined, expelled or banned from office by UNISON.

We are facing an unprecedented attack on public services, our pay and conditions - whichever party wins the next general election.

We need more activists like Caroline to lead, support and defend members in the fights in the months and years to come.
If we are organised, then we can win these fights.

If leading activists like Caroline are disciplined, expelled or banned from office by the union's national and regional leadership then members - who ARE the union - will be weakened.

For details of the case and what you can do to support Caroline, see:  www.supportcarolinebedale.wordpress.com and sign the online petition at www.iPetitions.com/petition/standupforcarolinebedale/

Please pass this information on to anyone you think may be interested.
Thanks.
