UNISON did breach election procedures

Congrats to Caroline Bedale who today won her case against UNISON.

From the certification officer
"I declare that on or around 12 January 2009 UNISON breached paragraph 49 of its Election Procedures for the election of members to its National Executive Council 2009/2011 by property and resources of the Union being used in support of campaigning for prospective candidates in that election."

Bedale vs Unison

This does throw up a few rather interesting questions for unison and I'll blog a more detailed analysis later, but firstly why wasn't Caroline's complaint taken seriously first in the region then nationally and then by Electoral reform who all dismissed the complaint and secondly what is the union going to do about this breach of rule from individuals named in the certification officers decision??
